It is very strange that "Fika" is a Swedish word. When our fika traditions range from dry cinnamon buns to crumbly sugar cookies, Salzburg is a true oasis of fluffy cream pastries and creamy coffee. Here in Mozart's hometown, it's easy to spend a hot summer's day wandering among pastel-colored houses overlooking the Hohensaltzburg fortress. Take a tour of the castle, stop and listen to the classic street musicians' versions of Eine kleine Nachtmusik, eat ice cream in the sun at Café Tomaselli or shop for hand-painted eggs for the Christmas tree (all year round).
