30 cozy Christmas markets around Stockholm (2024)

Stockholm is home to a variety of charming Christmas markets that truly amplify the festive spirit. Here are the ones I've found for this year – have I missed any?

Every year, as the first Advent draws near, something magical happens. The longing for light, warmth, and the Christmas spirit hits me like a chill in the air. Suddenly, I crave mulled wine, roasted almonds, and straw decorations. It's time to spend weekends exploring the Christmas markets around Stockholm! I adore both modern markets with art and the classic ones with handmade crafts, but above all, they must be brimming with delicious food and sweet treats. After all, if there’s one thing I look forward to as Christmas approaches, it's indulging in those festive delights we only enjoy once a year, all while soaking in the joy of Christmas music!

After doing some thorough research on the best Christmas markets, I figured I’d jot them down and save them for next year. These markets tend to return year after year. The ones I’ve selected are often just outside Stockholm, typically set in charming castles or historic manor houses.

    • Oh, thanks for the tip Enskedethe park's bakery! I thought it was the same as Enskedes Christmas market. Will check it out! Hope there was a saffron bun or two for you this weekend! :)

  1. Hersby Christmas Market Sollentuna 8 Dec 12-15pm
Traditional Christmas market in an old-fashioned setting. The children can say hello to Santa. Hot dogs, cotton candy, mulled wine, home-baked coffee service, stalls with homemade crafts, honey, bread, juice, home-made candles, wreaths, flour from local mills. Hersby and Edsbacka fiddlers play. The forge is up and running and the trade stall sells all kinds of goods that belonged to Christmas in the old days.
