Hotel tips in Warsaw: Hotel Bristol โ€“ Royal comfort in the heart of the city

Timeless elegance, five-star service and a breakfast you'll never want to leave - Hotel Bristol in Warsaw is a hotel to dream of returning to!

When you step into the lobby of Hotel Bristol, you immediately know you've booked the right hotel in Warsaw. With a blend of art deco and modern luxury, it's almost like stepping back into the extravagance and opulence of the 1920s. So pack your bags and prepare for a fantastic stay!

Location

If you're looking for the perfect location to explore Warsaw's Old Town and dining scene, Hotel Bristol is the obvious choice. The hotel is located right next to the Presidential Palace on the majestic Krakowskie Przedmieล›cie street, where you'll stroll past many of the city's most famous historic buildings and luxury boutiques.

Across the street from Hotel Bristol is the city's second star hotel. Raffles Europejski Warsaw (the same chain as Raffles in Singapore) and a large Hermรจs store. Just a stone's throw from the old town, this hotel is a perfect base for both sightseeing and drinks.

The rooms

The room was as comfortable as it was beautiful. Thick carpets, heavy curtains and soft towels are always a good start. Then add wide beds with fluffy pillows and a marble bathroom that will make you feel like royalty.

Opposite the bed was a large TV and by the window stood two armchairs. The style of the room is reminiscent of the Four Seasons, with understated luxury and well-thought-out details in leather and crystal. Everything was also perfectly clean.

Classic Luxury Style Double Room

We had a double room with a view of a park, but despite the street outside it was completely quiet. Free bottled water was replenished daily, although tap water was just as good. The room had a Nespresso coffee maker, a kettle, a minibar, a safe, slippers and bathrobe, a hairdryer and the possibility of charging your mobile phone (both USB sockets and a Qi charger). The wifi was fast and you could stream.

The bathroom was stocked with luxurious Byredo products (shampoo, conditioner, soap and hand cream). It was hard not to feel pampered.

The only downside to the room was that it was a little too hot when we went to sleep the first night and it took us a while to understand that we also needed to lower the heat in the bathroom to make the bedroom cooler.

Service

The service at the hotel was impeccable from the moment we stepped through the door. We had landed early in the morning and arrived at the hotel at 11am. We had no expectation that the room would be ready for check-in, but rather planned to leave our luggage and go out into town for lunch. But the receptionist apologized that the room was not ready yet and told us that he had fixed a room for us that was already cleaned, which only needed final approval from the cleaning manager. Maybe we could sit down and have a coffee while we waited? I don't think a hotel could have a better reception than this.

Overall, the friendliness of the staff is one of the hotel's strongest points. From the friendly doormen who hold the door open for you 24/7 to the turn-down service that makes your room ready for the night and leaves large chocolates by the bed, the staff is there to help with everything from seamlessly handling luggage to recommending restaurants and booking dinners and taxis.

Column Bar & Restaurant

Facilities

Hotel Bristol has a spa, gym, pool and several restaurants and bars. Column Bar & Restaurant is the largest restaurant, but there are also Cafe Bristol, Lane's Gin Bar and the rooftop champagne bar Belle Epoque (open during the summer only).

We managed to try both a coffee at Cafรฉ Bristol and a drink at Lane's, both of which served a nice atmosphere, good drinks and really good coffee.

All public areas were well-maintained and clean and nothing felt worn or old.

Breakfast

Breakfast at Hotel Bristol is a chapter in itself. There are mid-range hotels where everything is served ready-made on a buffet. Then there are five-star hotels that have a buffet and egg stations that cook pancakes and poached eggs to order. Then there are five-star hotels that are a bit better with an a la carte menu and a buffet โ€“ where the a la carte is also included in the price of the breakfast. Hotel Bristol is the latter โ€“ here you can enjoy both an overwhelming buffet and an a la carte menu where you can eat everything.

Craving a potato cake with caviar and crayfish? Or maybe a French toast with strawberries? It's almost hard to understand why you need a buffet when the options on the menu are so appealing. Breakfast isn't cheap, but once you've had your eggs Benedict with perfectly poached eggs, it feels worth every penny.

The buffet has everything from hot classics to Polish specialties, freshly squeezed juices and freshly baked Polish doughnuts. All very beautifully presented with flowers and berries as decorations. Of course there is sparkling wine to finish the breakfast with. Don't book breakfast at Hotel Bristol if you are short on time โ€“ you will want to sit here in peace and quiet and enjoy for a long time. Only the cheese platter takes its time to try its way through.

The bottom line

In conclusion, Hotel Bristol in Warsaw is a gem that I would love to return to! The location, the service, the room and the food โ€“ everything was perfect. Highly recommended! *****

We paid 2500 kronor per night (excluding breakfast) for the room, which must be considered very affordable compared to other European cities! I can only compare it to the dated Radisson hotel where we stayed at Arlanda the night before our departure to Warsaw, where we paid 1400 kronor (excluding breakfast) for one night in a worn out room with no service.

The hotel seems to attract mainly middle-aged couples, but there were also a few lone business travelers down at breakfast. We saw a family with teenagers. We also saw several dogs in the cafe, which is consistent with the hotel being dog-friendly.

If I had to mention one negative thing about the hotel, it would have to be the slow elevators, but then I've really made up something that isn't really a problem when you're on vacation.
