Vietnamese New Year
Around the Vietnamese New Year (at the same time as the Chinese New Year which occurs on different dates in Jan/Feb) many shops and restaurants close.
Climate and weather
Vietnam has a monsoon tropical climate with large climate and temperature differences between north and south. There is no period that is perfect for the whole country - read more in my guide.
Passport
If you have a Swedish passport, the passport must be valid for at least 6 months upon entry. It is required that you can show a return ticket.
Bargain
In Vietnam, you are expected to haggle. Sometimes you'll get double or triple the starting price, so it's up to you whether you'll make a bargain or not.
Vietnamese coffee
Vietnamese coffee is something you should not miss if you like coffee. Here the coffee is really strong and often served with ice and/or condensed milk.
Tap water
Avoid drinking the tap water.
